In my impression both of them concentrate on getting their words right, and out of their mouths in the right order. They try to let the visuals follow. I quite like Starkey's powerpoint style of presentation, though his glasses could be camp-and therefore distracting. Lucy clearly takes a more discursive, less analytical, route to discussing history. She does like dressing upand she does the 'how' of history more than the 'why', how they lived differently to us. Both 'how?' and 'why?' are valid approaches to history. Especially the bits where she dresses up in historical costume (which she seems to do in every series).Markhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07772599516684893335noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10272587.post-12434960705150706072016-01-09T16:05:35.479+00:002016-01-09T16:05:35.479+00:00I watched something she presented once and I found...I watched something she presented once and I found her constant smile a bit annoying. I'm not usually irritable, I don't think and rather like smiling myself, so it's hard to pinpoint the reason for my objection. I'm sure she is, as you say, lovely. Sounds as if you don't entirely recommend the programme, which is a relief, really.Zhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00822383355869390919noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10272587.post-15786582011100481792016-01-08T13:50:40.324+00:002016-01-08T13:50:40.324+00:00I laughed aloud twice. For just a moment, I thought it might've been Sister Wendy's real name.

My son didn't say his "R"s until a month into kindergarten. I would've loved to have heard him discourse on the Woyal Womanovs.

PearlPearlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05261369905176088917noreply@blogger.com
