I've got a sewing machine

In case any of you were wondering why I am up this late at night (don't all shout at once) I should point out that I was over on Facebook in a chat with the son of a friend who was asking for help with an essay on logic, specifically Locke and Descartes. It is in times like these, in mentoring those younger than myself, that I feel that I am putting something back in, and repaying the kindness that has been shown to me.

The thread has now become a discussion about sex, drugs and rock and roll, specifically Hawkwind, who made some major contributions to each of those arts.

My work is done, and I can now sleep peacefully.

We all look up to you.

You are old, father William.

Hawkwind and sex?

What are these dark arts of which you speak?

Dave. I have answered 3 questions.
Geoff. Ask Betty. She may remember sex.
Kaz. At last, someone who understands.

No doubt this child was very young indeed. Typical of you.

Yes, Zoe, you daft tart, it was a three year old, who couldn't quite get to grips with Descartes. Of course, some young people, unable to find support from their parents, turn to respected members of the community for guidance. How is Todd?

I heard Silver Machine on Radcliffe and Maconie's entertaining wireless radio show last night.

Oh, the next wv is picapeco which I think sounds really quite cute.

Richard. We are not at home to Mrs "C" word.

Bournemouth 1976 - I was there were you?

Why in your sidebar does your feed thingy say I posted 6 hours ago when I only finished writing the damn thing half an hour ago?

Thank you for asking, Vicus, I believe Todd is fine. Apart from forgetting to see his psychologist on Monday as he conveniently forgot the address. His dad went ballistic, as I'm sure you can imagine.

We're letting him come here for the evening to watch the football with us. He doesn't like cricket as that's for old people.

Ziggi. I have only been to one Hawkwind concert, and I slept all the way through it.
Richard. Is your watch fully wound?
Zoe. Point him to me on facebook, you will save a fortune on psychologists bills.

I saw The Clash in concert in Streatham in 1977, does that count

(word ver: hipped)(no, it didn't mean anything to me either)

Your Reverence for Life reminds me of Albert Schweitzer.
You, Sir, are a Giver.

Another name that comes to mind at the mere mention of Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll is Alex Harvey, not sure if he was indentured as of yet but it will have a nice ring to it...
but the two of you share so many similar attributes that a comparison is virtually inescapable.

Yes, when I hear the name Vicus Scurra
(l.noun; a scurrilous vicuña;
A Dalai Llama given to the use of abusive language
)

I am reminded of your charismatic persona and eclecticism, energetic Facebook performances, and daredevil blogging antics.

Alas, J.Patrick (How does that differ from J.Arthur?) I have more than one young 'friend'. I am grooming all sorts of young people on facebook, and I am proud to be able to help many of them with their academic pursuits. You silly twat.
