Suffer the little children

I am obliged to my friends at news.com.au, who are owned by that nice Mr Murdoch, so the stories must be true, for highlighting the news item about a Christian Charity’s scheme to distribute a DVD about the nativity to all UK Schools. This is an animation, not a documentary, despite it being a well-known fact that the News Corporation does have exclusive rights to broadcast the second coming. It features three quails, and boasts Stephen Berkoff, Joe Pasquale and Cannon and Ball on the sound track.

This goes to explain the current dearth of new material on the web journal pages. When confronted with events such as these, there is little that we can write that challenges the imagination compared to the activities in the parallel world out there.

They’ll be telling me next that one of the candidates for the top job in the Conservative party (if that is not an oxymoron), wants to have each school in the UK fly the union jack.

A report in the Metro today explains that the maker of this animation was inspired to do so when a child at a school asked why Mary and Joseph had named their child after a swear word.

Apparently it also contains music by Cliff Richard. I will be examining whether this falls outside the limits of Child Welfare legislation (and the Human Rights Act for that matter).

Is there something wrong with you guys? Every time someone comes up with a good idea to help get things back on track, out you come using the whole situation to get a few cheap laughs.
If only that flag had been flying outside our schools in the 50s and 60s then maybe we wouldn't be in this mess in the first place. For the record I have to say that the sight of the union flag in full flight actually has no effect on me whatsoever, except to make me feel sick and feel slightly sorry for the poor deluded being who raised the thing. What part of anyone can possibly think that flying a flag can in any way be of some benefit to humanity.
Sorry to be so angry on my first post to this mighty organ - I don't get political about much, but oh my god, what a crap idea!

There, there Tom, don't take on so!
This little corner of the virtual cosmos is somewhere where those nasty people can't get you. Come here any time, and feel the tension drip away as you join in with those of us who still think there is something worth laughing at out there.
