No, not Tebbit

As part of a comment on a young person's status update on facebook, I left the criticism:
"Not to mention the ubiquitous superfluity of the word indicating similarity."
She affected (blaming inebriation) not to understand.
I expect all of you to know exactly what I meant, even without seeing the context.

Have you noticed how sales assistants of the female tendency use the word "lovely" when the transaction is completed.
I usually agree with them and say that I am lovely.
They usually laugh at this. I suspect that they are laughing at, rather than with, me.
My loveliness is obviously only revealed to those who have a perspicacity well above the norm.

I haven't a clue what you're on about. As usual.

I'm sure you are quite lovely though.

I find you rather comely.

You're just after the award I got, aren't you?

You're, like, lovely.

I will go one step beyond Geoff's hesitant concurrence and emphatically go on record with the following statement.

To the best of my knowledge, you are the living embodiment of lovely.

Rol. I am filling up.
MJ. Thank you, but I wonder whether your tastes are such that I should not feel more than a little anxiety in being in your orbit.
Dave. I do not covet my neighbour's ox, or award. Do you have any maidservants that might do instead?
Geoff you are well clever.
Moot. I am blushing.
You are all very kind. You have made a happy man very old.

My own lovely flesh and blood daughter on Teh Facebook had mentioned that she had joined the group that claimed to dislike people who sent one word text messages. I commented "LOL"

Up here - they don't say lovely to end a transaction - they say Brilliant.
I'm sure you would accept this epithet with your customary modesty.

I have a perspicacity above the norm. No, I really do.

And I think you're stunning.

It may be your lovely level of perspicacity. Adam's mom

Art! I am overwhelmed. How good to have you here. Please look around (miss out the rude bits) and meet some of the folks. They are all very lovely, really.
Everyone! This is Adam's mom! The clue is that she posted the same comment twice, although I couldn't see any spelling or grammatical errors. (It would be churlish to mention the missing fullstop at the end).

I got it right! Like, didn't I?!

Sorry.

Scarlet Blue! Welcome. Yes you got it right. You are among the cleverer of the visitors here. Although that is similar to saying you are among the politer people in Paris, or the more cheerful in Wolverhampton.
