A better tone

I have been urged by a reader to post something edifying to take the emphasis away from the filth that has begun to be the main characteristic of the previous post.
As I am somewhat busy at the moment, (providing banality to all and sundry) may I draw your attention to this?

They're not very bright, these New York kids. Thank you so much for raising the tone. I'm going to spend the rest of the evening stressing about that closed mouth thing...

well, I, for one enjoyed the Cinderella story but if we must change the subject, I suppose we must. It is YOUR blog after all.

*sighs*

oh dear, just visited the link. never mind. carry on. You're doing fine keeping the tone down.

I wonder what Tom will say. He may be a bit disappointed in you crabbypants.

Kyahgirl, my bet is on Tom being Dude #2.

*snicker*

surely not, after watching all the geriatrics falling over each other in the West Country. you'd think he might have picked up a a pointer or two.

What I want to know is, will he hum?

Vicus Scurra said...

K, I hope by 'pointer' you are not referring to the breed of dog. He is a resident of Devon, not a native.
Raincoaster, if you are to join the long list of potential sexual partners for him, you must ask him these questions. What makes you think that I would know?

Can we really just let the standards drop and drop like this. Is there no limit to the depths of your disgusting minds? Shouldn't someone do something?

tom909 said...

Mary, take it from me (and I don't mean up the arse) the more you protest the worse they get.

Vicus Scurra said...

Mary, you old tart, how would you like standards to drop and drop? I may lack impartiality, but I think that their dropping and dropping in this way is coming along quite nicely. If you have suggestions as to how they might drop and drop quicker or better, then please be specific.

I also believe that there are millions of instances of someone doing something in the few minutes since you posted this.

You should really make an effort with regard to specificity.

Tom, are none of the nice young ladies here safe from your disgraceful sexual advances? If this goes on I might be forced to publish details of that nasty industrial accident that you had, and the resulting anatomical irregularities.

Pictures?

cyber mary has a point. someone should do something.

Tom, I appoint you the official educator (since you're obviously the biggest perv among us) and you must go track down Dude #2 and straighten him out.

happy Mary?

was that not what you meant? such a shame how young people these days are lacking in the fundamentals of a good education.

I disagree that standards are dropping. They remain as high as they ever were - highly irregular, highly irreverent, highly addictive and consistently, unerringly mildly amusing.

Not my Tom I hope? I have that site on my favorites, there are some gems on it.
Over heard in New Zealand would consist of many Aoooooorsomes and a few She'll be rights. I may give it a miss.

This is a bit like a bad trip - I can't quite work out whose believing it and whose not any more. I think I must have ate some of Surly's mushroom by mistake.

Vicus Scurra said...

Caroline.
No, not your Tom. You do not own men, despite your obvious delusions of power. We are independent delicate beings in need of affection and reverence.
Honestly, your sexist attitudes are as bad as Tom's.
And Tom, it's all a bad trip man. In the morning we will have come down and found out that it is still 1970, and we haven't grown old and perverted.

Mark Gamon said...

I knew that. Now where did I put my hash pipe?

tom909 said...

Thank god for that. For a minute there I thought someone had said I was the biggest perv in cyberspace.
Ah 1970, are we truly back there. All Things Must Pass, The very first Glastonbury, Quintessence, My heart full of hope for mankind. Beautiful girls in gorgeous colours. Loads of drugs (I liked them then), and my good old mate, the young Scurra. Let's go for it!

oosolic - that's got to be something hasn't it?

Kyahgirl said...

oh dear Tom, I hope I didn't hurt your feelings!

Yikes. I was only teasing you know.

*hands Tom the hash pipe*
that will take the edge off, go on.

tom909 said...

Absolutely not Kyah - just a bit of a flashback, nothing to worry about.

Tom, why are you wasting your time on here and not writing on your own blog I so want to know what has happened about the short hole long post scenario

Anonymous said...

You know, the tone is just not elevating at all, no matter what the subject matter.

Vicus Scurra said...

Hey Lancaster, who do you think you are coming down here and ordering my virtual friends around.
You stay here, Tom, we don't mind your idiosyncrasies, your strange odour, your mild perversion. It is safe here.

llrjup - devonian exclamation of acceptance.

It makes a change from doing the accounts, anyway.
